Pond Wars

It's been a good week in the recess (El Recreo)! This week it really started to dry up, but as soon as I say that, I know the flood will come. We continue the wearysome battle against Mosquitos. I don't know how many I have killed, but they still choose not to learn from history. The good news is with all the floods and mosquitos, I have never seen so many frogs in my life. In one little pond full of black water that I had to walk through it to get to an appointment, there must have been a million tadpoles (what was the actual blackness in the water), baby frogs, and frogs. I feel like I'm actually seeing everything that my seventh grade life science teacher said would come to pass. So at least the frogs are on our side vs mosquitos.

The hymns have been very inspiring as of late. "Press Forward Saints," I've come to realize is more than just an “opening of general conference” type of hymn. It was based off of an amazing scripture 2 Nephi 31:20. The hymn really puts it all together though. The first verse talks on faith, hope, and charity! As we apply the gospel of Jesus Christ to our lives, having faith, hope, and charity, we are just in for a very joyful life no matter what happens. I need to rethink the meaning of endurance, but I think growing and pressing forward to Christ like a saint prepares us for the Celestial Kingdom! God gives us plenty of hard things to do, and we will have eternal glory if we do them. Que gozo es esta vida!

We got to find all sorts of people this week! We have been teaching the Vasquez family, the next door neighbors of Guillermo. They came to church yesterday and really enjoyed the sacrament meeting. We had a very important lesson on Saturday that was make it or break it for them. The Holy Ghost always comes in when it counts! Also Veronica, the mom of Erick, got baptized! That was a long one in the making and man it was awesome! I'm so happy that she was able to take that step in her life and receive the blessings of God!
Crazy week! Opposition just doesn't matter. Selah!
